Dear Colleagues, You will find below information about the SDL Forum Event for 2006. This is relevant to ITU-T SG17 methods and notations used by ITU-T and ITU-T members for specification, modelling, implementation and testing.
While this event is not specifically associated with ASN.1, it is often the
case that ASN.1 is used with other ITU-T languages.

5th Workshop on System Analysis and Modelling
(formerly SDL and MSC Workshop)

The workshop on System Analysis and Modelling (SAM) provides an open arena
for participants from academia and industry to present and discuss the most
recent innovations, trends, experiences and concerns in the field of SDL,
MSC, and related languages such as UML, ASN.1, eODL, TTCN, and URN. It
addresses modelling, specification, and analysis of distributed systems,
communication systems, and real-time systems. SAM'06 will be organized

o domain-specific applicability (e.g., in automotive, aerospace,
telecommunication)

Submission policy
-----------------
Submissions in the following categories are solicited:
Full papers describing original, unpublished results (max. 16 pages in
LNCS style)
Short papers, describing work in progress (max. 8 pages in LNCS style)
Position statements, presenting an arguable opinion about an issue (max.
4 pages in LNCS style)
Posters and exhibits (submit poster and/or 400 word abstract)
Important: Electronic submission in pdf-format, using EDAS, is mandatory.
Please refer to the workshop homepage for more information. Papers that have
already been published or that are under review at another event are
ineligible for submission to SAM'06. All submissions must be in English.
The SAM Programme Committee will evaluate the technical contribution of each
submission as well as its accessibility to the SAM audience. Papers will be
judged on significance, originality, substance, correctness, and clarity.
Camera-ready versions of accepted papers have to adhere to the LNCS format,
see workshop homepage for details.
Accepted papers must be presented at the workshop by one of the authors.
Copies of the accepted papers will be distributed to participants. In
addition, high-quality papers will be considered for publication in the
published proceedings after the workshop. The SAM'02 and SAM'04 proceedings
were published in the LNCS series (Springer), and (subject to agreement with
Springer) the SAM'06 proceedings will be published in the same series.
Venue
-----
The workshop will be held in Kaiserslautern, Germany, one of the official
venues for the Soccer World Cup 2006. Kaiserslautern is located in the
south-western part of Germany, and has gained high reputation in business
and sciences, with particular strength in computer science. In addition to
the Computer Science Department at the University of Kaiserslautern, the
Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering, the German
Centre for Artificial Intelligence and the newly founded
Max-Planck-Institute
for Software Systems are located in Kaiserslautern, forming one of the
biggest computer science research clusters in Germany.
