Hi, By the definition of ASN.1 , we need to have explicit encoding of choice types. But the BER rules for encoding says that encoding of the choice type is equivalent to the encoding of the choice element within it. In some of the choice types in MAP-GSM tags mentioned for the elements clash with the tags of the parent sequence in which the choice is present. can U please suggest me general rule to solve this choice encoding conflict in GSM specs? Should i always encode the Choice tag for all the choice types (or) encode the choice tage only in cases of conflict? Waiting for your answer! -Santhosh.
