Hello All,
I am new to this group and to ASN as such.
I was going through some ASN specifications and also glanced on some ASN
specifications of an ITU-T document.
My question is when PER encoding is employed, the compiler will need to
generate a table structure file for the encoder and the decoder to
understand, which keeps values of elements in constrained case. Does this
table structure have any standard format in which it needs to stored.
>From what I have understood, this table structure is what you will require
at the either end for encode as well as decode.
Does any interoperability issues arise due to this. Like for the same
structure, two vendors have their separate encoder and decoder.
One specific issue : in integer
Variable INTEGER ::= 234
a. how does this get encoded ?
b. what c structures does this produce a const or #define
c. Will it be a fully constrained INTEGER with lower and upper limits the
same.
please do send in your thoughts.
