Hi,
I have the following query
regarding tagging the SEQUENCE type in the AUTOMATIC TAGGING environment. This
is w.r.t. the clause 24.9 a-e in X.680 that gives the rules for the tagging
process. It mentions that the 1st ComponentType of RootComponentTypeList is
numbered 0, next 1 and so on. But the 3rd alternative of the production
ComponentTypeLists is as follows.
ComponentTypeLists <-- RootComponentTypeList
"," ExtensionAndException ExtensionAdditions ExtensionEndMarker ","
RootComponentTypeList
But the clause 24.6 states that
"When the third or fourth alternative of
"ComponentTypeLists" is used, all "ComponentType"s in extension additions shall
have tags which are distinct from the tags of the textually following
"ComponentType"s up to and including the first such "ComponentType" that is not
marked OPTIONAL
or DEFAULT
in the trailing
"RootComponentTypeList", if any.".
From the above I understand that
the elements of the second RootComponentTypeList are not numbered from zero but
possibly contining from the ExtensionAdditions. I am not clear as to how are
tags assigned to the elements of the second RootComponentTypeList in the
AUTOMATIC TAGGING environment. Thanking you.
Yours Sincerely
Ramaswamy
