Something may have changed in the build process of the mod_perl & apache distributions since I wrote that script. If you can't get the script to work as it, you can rip out the various parts of the build and run them one by one, & tweak them to work. If you have a diff that you get to work, and are working with the latest sources, I can update the build script appropriately.
