Okay I have spyware on my machine. This one is very unusual. Here is how it all goes. Of course the homepage is hijacked just in IE as netscape is ot affected. It references the usual .dll file in system32. You cna delete it but it will return under another name. I have ue Hijack this to get rid of registery entries but they return right away. I have also deleted the .dll files and another returns right away. I did do one thing. I open the current dll and edited it to nothing. so now it loads blank. so that stops there ads at least. Another thing that happens. Each reboot my computer attempts to install frontpage 2003 like when you first run your office 2003 it does that configuring office thing. If i cancel it will try to instlal it each time i run anything with windows. Like outlook express or IE. So I ust let it run each time. here is another issue with it. I am behinda router and i host webdsites. I have one site I will use as an example. www.BelchingToadClan.com But in order to use that domain behind the router internally I used to use my hosts file. I would put 192.168.0.4 BelchingToadClan.com The thing is now with this spyware each time a make a hosts file it vanishes. In about 30 seconds. I can put read-only on it and it still vanishes. I need to be able to have a hosts file. How can I fix this thing? I have run CWSshredder Hijackthis Spybot Antivirus Sasser removal Another thing that happens is when I try to remove frontpage or IIS5.1 my computer reboots on its own. Any help................. is appreciated. I also noticed that this seems to only happen on XP. Older Operating systems dont catch this stuff. Microsoft needs a patch or something. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Make a clean sweep of pop-up ads. Yahoo! Companion Toolbar. Now with Pop-Up Blocker.
