Auf was ich noch gestossen bin, waren solche Kommentare: Re: MS is killing ASPFriends.com Posted: 19 Nov 2002 03:58 PM I will throw my two cents into this fray. First off, Microsoft is not killing ASP Friends. They have offered to support it, if there is a business contract in place. Charles wants the money, without any restrictions in place. As such, it is his prerogative. I met Charles last year at the MVP Summit (I had actually "met" him online, years prior, but this was the first face to face). It was his contention that mail lists were the only real method of helping the community. To his credit, he created some very filtered lists. I opted to play along for awhile, but found the messages to be as annoying as SPAM after awhile, so I bowed out. I prefer forums where I can completely opt out. He views forums and UseNet as a complete waste of time, which is his right. I disagree. I am not surprised that Charles has created a manifesto over the "incident." Reading the rant, I see nothing that Microsoft did that is unexpected in any business dealing. As such, I will not side with Charles on this incident. I do not know where the money for nothing attitude comes from, but I am not surprised considering some of the incidents at last year's Summit. I wish Charles well, but I am certain that the other forums for help will be more than able to take up the slack.
