Finally, here are some answers to some frequently asked questions about ASP.NET, from Scott Guthrie: 1) ASP.NET is FREE
2) There is no ASP.NET Premium version anymore (all features are in the same download -- and it is free) 3) You need to completely uninstall all previous version of ASP.NET before installing RTM 4) There is a chance that only the .NET Framework SDK (and not the small redist) will be posted tomorrow. We found a late issue (text typo) with propping the EULA Text for the redist setup and might need to spend another day before it too goes live. 5) VS.NET will be available for download for all MSDN subscribers. It will then be available for purcahse in Feb (after Bill Gates does the VS launch speech in San Francisco) 6) There will be new versions of IBuySpy ready for RTM download. These will be available on the IBuySpy tab on the new www.asp.net homepage (www.ibuyspy.com will redirect there). 7) There will be three new whitepapers about IBuySpy also published tomorrow. These will also be on www.asp.net 8) We will be launching a new server control gallery tomorrow on the www.asp.net site as well. This provides a yahoo style directory of server controls that people can learn about and then download. Our goal is to have 300+ of them listed and categorized there later this Spring. If you have server controls today, it would be great if you could recompile them for RTM and submit them to the site as soon as it goes live so that it starts filling up. 9) We will also be launching a new forum gallery on www.asp.net that allows you to read (via the browser) messages from the ASPNG lists as well as from the Microsoft NNTP newsgroups. It will be a great place to point people who are thinking of signing up for the lists -- so that they can see all the great content on them, and then single click to register and be able to send messages as well.
