At this point, we don't support having any authentication on the xml files used in the treeview's properties such as TreeNodeSrc, TreeNodeXsltSrc etc So, it requires anonymous authentication to be enabled on the xml file. Here are the workarounds: 1) Enable Anonymous authentication on the xml file of you are providing the path as: TreeView1.TreeNodeSrc = "Testdata.xml" ( Please note that the above path will be interpretted as "http://myserver/myproject/Testdata.xml";) or TreeView1.TreeNodeSrc = "http://myserver/myproject/Testdata.xml"; 2) Provide fully qualified file path to the xml file and make sure that the accessing user has proper permissions to the xml file: e.g. TreeView1.TreeNodeSrc = "e:\inetpub\wwwroot\samplenetproject\testdata.xml" Note: You can also use Server.Mappath or Request.PhysicalPath etc. Hope this helps.
