[aspell-devel] Will not write over "common/string_map.hpp" ?

I just fetched a copy of aspell from cvs,
and ran autogen, and got some messages such as
Will not write over "common/string_map.hpp".
and am wondering what that means, if any kind soul
feels like explaining it to me.

I'm afraid I don't understand autopoint or libtoolize,
so I may be in need of remedial reading, but I have
always found the autotools somewhat daunting.
