Hello,

I'm the maintainer of the FreeBSD port of Aspell. FreeBSD-Current has
switched to gcc-3.3.1, and it has broken Aspell:

checker_string.cpp: In member function `void
CheckerString::replace(acommon::ParmString)':
checker_string.cpp:113: error: `assert' undeclared (first use this
function)
checker_string.cpp:113: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only
once for each function it appears in.)
gmake[1]: *** [checker_string.o] Error 1

This has been reported by Jeremy Messenger <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and a patch
has been provided by Peter Kadau <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

This patch can be fetched from
<http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/textproc/aspell/files/patch-prog%3a%3achecker_string.cpp>.

Truly yours,
--
Th. Thomas.
