I understand the problems of working with words that have hyphens or other symbols (as in http://aspell.sourceforge.net/man-html/Words-With-Symbols-in-Them.html#W ords-With-Symbols-in-Them) but has anyone worked out a way around this?
We get lots of different spellings for Al-Qaeda, for example, but want to use only one, via a replacement word list. Any ideas? (I could replace hyphens with a rare string such as xxx, on the way in and out of Aspell, so to speak, but this seems a bit hacky and error prone.)
