I think you mean "self.close()" :-D
Also, there is no submit() method on the document object (at least there
shouldn't be). To submit the form, you'd want to say
window.opener.document.forms[0].submit()
This assumes that you have only one form in the parent page, which is
usually a valid assumption; if not, you'll have to change the zero to the
correct index of your form in the page.
