Bob,

Off the top of my head no. I do know where a CSharp to VB.net Convertor is, but have
yet to find a VB.Net to Csharp convertor, a tool like that might be usefull in your
case

Thanks George,

I will check out this site. Also, are there any sites that point out
syntax differences between vb.net and C#? For example, in my prior post
Dean showed me that I needed brackets [] instead of parentheses () for
array lists and collections.

Try

http://www.learnvisualstudio.net?referedby=54275

They have valuable resources for learning C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, ADO.Net

All the Tutorials are in Windows Media Format, over 60 hours worth of
tutorials, source code is provided for Gold Members, its very cheap when
you consider other Learning sources pricing!!!

Bronze members are free, but only get the Daily videos and no source
code.

Hope this helps
George

Thanks Dean,

Hey, can recommend a good C# learning web site? Looking at C#, I don't
think it will take me too long to learn. It's just stuff like I had in
my last post.

Bob,

string strConnect = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["NorthWind"];

will work

C# uses [] to delimit array and collection elements.

Subject: [AspNetAnyQuestionIsOk] C# question

Hi all,

I have been developing apps using vb.net for some time now. My company
has decided to also have the development staff learn C#. I am excited
about this. So I have been messing around with C# today. But I am
getting an error on the following statement:

string strConnect = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings("NorthWind");

Here is the error:

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CSExample\CustomerSelect.aspx.cs(32):
'System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings' denotes a
'property' where a 'method' was expected.

I am confused on why the following statement works in vb.net:

Dim strConnect As String =
ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings("FundRaising")

I do not get an error using this statement. Did I convert this to C#
incorrectly?

Thanks,

Bob
