The Mozilla Project is a browser engine (engine that shows HTML on
your PC screen) that FireFox uses, and several other porjects
includingh a browser named Mozilla and a few others.ã So like many
different car models might share a common engine many browsers use the
Mozilla Rendering Engine. FireFox and Mozilla are 2 that use the same
engine. There are many others.

ActiveX or WebForms are MS answers to applets.

Winforms are at
http://www.learnasp.com/quickstart/winforms/
basically they are windows apps written in .net and they can be run in browsers.

Greetings from Japan btw.

The Java people would tend to have Active-X and Winforms for religous
reasons and not be familiar with their greater power than applets in
some case and be in denial about it.

The only advantage Applets is have is they can run on many platforms
and ActiveX and WinForms tend to run on IE browsers on Windows
although there are exceptions.

ActiveX and Winforms sliders exist.
