I just put up a second Master Page sample running in ASP.net 1.x

http://www.learnasp.com/freebook/learn/masterpagemany.aspx
shows how to have multiple content regions.

http://www.learnasp.com/freebook/learn/masterpage.aspx
is a simpler starting example for those who are interested in getting
started with only 1 content region.

Master pages allow one to have one template file say
whatever.ascx
that can determine the look and feel for a page of text and "wrap up"
/ Sandwich / place the content in the template easily. Switching
between 2 looks and feels is as simple as changing the .ascx the page
refers to as the master page.
