A company in Spartanburg, South Carolina has offered me a generous 6
months contract starting June 1 or june 15 (my choice). I have to
decide by Wednesday next week and I will go there unless my interview
and offer Monday (see below) sells me otherwise.
A company in Arkansas is flying me in Sunday for a Monday interview
with their CEO and hopes to offer me a sweete deal than South
Carolina. They know what $$ figure they need to beat, and I personally
feel a relocation fee would be appropriate since that but need to
meet me face-to-face before investing that much money on me.
If I live in South Carolina I would come back in 6 months and hunt for
my next job in Jan/Feb of 2006. I amy even consider the company in
Arkansas for my February job.
If I take Arkansas I would live there for next few years (probably buy
a house in Arkansas short term and one in Chiba, Tokyo in long term)
but travel to DC to see close friends on weekends frequently and
travel to Tokyo to see wife and kids frequently during school year.
