There is no such thing as Server.Redirect.  We have

Server.Transfer(url)
and
Response.Redirect(url)
Response.Redirect(url, EndExecutionCurrentPage)


Response.Redirect(url) is the equivalent of
Response.Redirect(url, True)

So, normally a Response.Redirect(url) will cease execution as will
Server.Transfer.  It calls End, which raises a Thread.Abort exception.
 So if you have a Try Catch Finally structure around the redirect, the
code in Finally WILL execute afte the redirection call.

However, this looks potentially dangerous for what you are doing.  I'd
close the connection and then redirect, so you don't leave anything
dangling.
