I have written an application creatively named FileWatcher that uses the
FileSystemWatcher functions to pull files in and start automation once
received. We have an FTP server sitting in a DMZ with all Microsoft netbios
ports off for security. I need to mimic the FileSystemWatcher functionality on
this FTP server. The only thing I can think of is writing an application that
logs into an FTP server, checks all the directories, logs off, sleeps for say
30 seconds and does it again. I know this isn't a good way to solve this. I
was wondering if any of you smart peeps out there have a better idea. I hope
you do since the way I described sounded like a train wreck waiting to happen
to me.
