ASP will co-exist with ASP.net for a long time. VBScript and Javascript no the server in ASP.DLL are indeed programming languages don't kid yourself there.
http://learnasp.com/freebook/learn/differences.aspx indeed shosw the many things ASP.net has that Asp does not. But ASP is a programming language and they will co-exist for a while. Heck Fortran and Cobol and C sitll exist even though many other languages have been invented to replace them.
