Currently, we are anticipating several career opportunities to support an agency located in Crystal City, VA. The selected individuals will provide Software Engineering solutions, particularly in the web arena. Successful candidates will be versatile software engineers with multiple talents and excellent consulting type skills needed to work directly with our client throughout all phases of development. The work is expected to be long-term in nature. Responsibilities will include: * Defining and analyzing business requirements. * Designing/Developing/Maintaining software applications using .NET, SOAP, UML/Rational, JAVA, J2EE, EJB, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, Model-View- Controller (MVC) architecture, using IBM WebSphere Studio Application Development (WSAD) integrated environment, XML, RDBMS, LDAP, JNDI, CBD, etc. * Participating in the design reviews and/or preparation of detailed design specifications.. * Developing applications using the Web tools determined for each project. * Modifying/customizing the existing Web applications to meet customer requirements. * Preparing test plans and test cases/scenarios for unit and integration/regression testing. Ensuring the quality of the applications developed through the Unit/Integration testing process. * Coordinating with testers and QA/configuration management in the deployment of the software. * Completing necessary project/application documentation including specification, design, programmer's maintenance manual, etc. Requirements Include: * Bachelor's Degree or higher. * 6-10 years of IT experience in the life cycle development of commercial/business software applications. * At least 3 years' experience in e-commerce (distributed applications) development using several of the following: MS .NET, Web services, SOAP, OO, ActiveX, Visual Basic, XML, RDBMS, etc. * Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. * Should be able to lead a team and/or mentor more junior developers. * Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as great interpersonal skills are essential, and so is the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to a changing environment. * Because we support the U.S. Department of Defense, some positions may require U.S. Citizenship. Additionally, the following experience/knowledge is desired: IBM WebSphere Studio and Portal development experience; J2EE, EJB, MVC UML/Rational Unified Process (RUP) experience; Windows XP, UNIX platform development experience; Oracle 9iAS; LDAP, JNDI; and Component Based Development (CBD).
