OSA, a prestigious society representing the fiber-optic and laser fields, is looking for a Database Administrator to oversee its SQL Server enterprise infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have experience administering, monitoring, and maintaining relational databases. While traditional DBA responsibilities are required (e.g., performance monitoring, database security, replication, backups, upgrades, restores, nightly jobs, etc.), we are also looking for someone who has savvy customer service skills, knowledge of accounting procedures (Solomon experience desirable), the ability to communicate and collaborate with our web developers, the patience to meticulously clean bad data, the talent to create measures for proactively preventing bad data, and a knack for building complex Crystal reports. Association experience and netForum experience a big plus. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 4 years experience as a database administrator working with SQL Server, a technical degree in computer science related field, proficiency with the use of database administration tools and data modeling tools, and experiences creating and maintaining indexes, stored procedures, and triggers.
