I know everyone on this list is smart enough to ignore messages like this:

[06:33:10] [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Your <red>Yahoo! Account
Will Be Terminated For Multiple Abuse Reports We Have Recieved..
Details At : http://www.yahoo-violation.com [Offline Message (Wed Apr
20 05:25:47 2005)]

If you have less technical friends and relatives you might want to
make them aware that this is a fake and the senders intent is
malicious so don't follow links (this is just an example). For most
chat protocols you can ignore messages from everyone that is not in
your buddy list, probably not a bad idea...

While you're at it you might want to let them know that Ebay nor
Paypal nor Amazon would send them messages about their account details
needing refreshed, or about to expire/be deleted/ or worse be brought
up on fraudulent charges/abuse. If you're unsure log in to the sites
directly or call customer service.

Just a friendly reminder, having received that bit of IM spam this morning.
