The PHARE project Educational Campaign for Family Advisory Issues and Child
Rights (see www.childrights.ro for more details) seeks volunteers to monitor
the Romanian and international media for news stories relating to child
protection. The volunteers should preferably be Social Work/ Psychology/ PR
students (the work involved can be considered as part of a student's
practical work) and have advanced knowledge of English or other languages
(Spanish, Italian, French, German, Magyar). Previous experience of child
protection is not necessary, but experience of media monitoring or internet
based research would be considered an advantage. The selected volunteers
would research their assigned newspapers' online editions every day (the job
involves about one hour per day) and submit the articles to the media
monitoring coordinator, who then edits articles and transmits them to the
National Authority for the Protection of Child Rights, the EC Delegation,
and other interested parties. Applicants should send a CV and letter of
intent (explaining why this job appeals to you, and if you have access to a
computer at home) to: Rupert Wolfe Murray, international media expert,
