it would have been nice had ghy got the IIM. but guess, assam govt made a mistake in the first place by projecting guwahati as the seat for the proposed IIM. its just an unwritten rule that the same city can't have both IIT and IIM. (case in point is IIM L,intially it was proposed to have the IIM built in kanpur but since it already had an IIT  it was later decided to establish it at lucknow).
 
had assam govt.projected some other place, say tezpur or jorhat, instead of ghy, i think assam would have clinched the race ( just a gut feeling)!

I was hoping for that too. Well! at least it is in a closer place than the others. Hope the new IIM to have the same standard as your alma mater, Rajib.
