I agree BK.
The politicians of Assam have done great disservice to the
people, by and large that is. Of course there ARE exceptions. By
selecting people other than the political hacks or celebrities, ULFA
showed an ability to think creatively. The PCG slate is diverse and
obviously are not beholden to the establishment's interests.
But the PCG's clout will be proportional to its popular support.
That is why I agree with Utpal, Santanu etc., that we ought to
participate with advice and encouragement, and thereby strengthening
its negotiating hands.

The Assam Tribune carried a letter a couple of days ago saying that the selection of members to the panel of negotiators was not wise. The writer suggestetd the names of a few politicians. These are the very people who made the State what it is now. How can the patriots of Assam have faith in them any longer? I personally feel that the panel nominated by ULFA are expected to do their best. Come to their aid as much as you are capable of.
