I am deeply saddened to read the recent exchange of emails that have been taking place on this issue.

The sole purpose of my initial email was of course simply to celebrate, worship and pray on this day -- the birth anniversary of our guru Sankardev and pay tribute to my (Jethu) late: Padma Kanta Dutta who was the Founder of Sankar Jayanti at UK in 1983.

I did not intend for the matter to be overtaken by what has unfortunately become a hostile, personal and bitter debate between individuals as to who said what, about whom and when.

Vaishnava movement started for many years ago, is an unifying force for our community.

We should ignore individual comments which are not based on authentic facts. It is all implicit.

It is not possible for me to comment with any certainty on what has or has not/does or does not take place within temple walls. I would not hold myself out as any kind of expert on this issue. At home this is perhaps an issue that is simply not discussed at all. In any event, I simply do not feel that it is necessary, within the context of which my initial email was sent, to agree or disagree with others on this point.

I would also respectfully suggest that this is not a proper or appropriate venue to voice such issues and that it would be far preferable if personal "individual" exchanges of this nature are in the future kept individual and not globally broadcast over the whole net.

As far as I am concerned, "this is an end to the matter."
