Drop the guns and bring peace to this world. Could you advise that for the sake of your motherland, your people? That should be your best interest, not what somebody else means.

Outlawed insurgent outfit, ULFA, should lay down their arms and come to the negotiating table, if it is sincere about their offer for peace talks with the Centre, Army Chief Gen JJ Singh said today.
"ULFA leadership should approach the Centre after surrendering their arms and negotiate, if they are genuine about their offer of talks", he told newsmen, while briefing them about the deliberations of the just-concluded top Army Commanders conference here.
Asserting that operations against the group would continue, the Army Chief said his forces would treat the banned organisation as a "terrorist organisation".
He said ULFA cadres were at present pressed hard by the pressure put on them by the security forces and had lost much of their earlier sheen and ideological standing.
Singh said moves by the group leaders to abandon their bases in the country and take shelter in other countries had not gone down well with the people of Assam.
