If anyone read this diatribe by an IITian and US Berkeley grad -  Mr Sinha about Infosys Chief Murthy - might be interested about Ambani brothers' education also.

Mr Sinha mentions that Murthy was on the board of Cornell - where his son had/having his education. Also Dirubhai Ambani was also on the board of Stanford/ Wharton MBA program. But the question is whether these gents got on the board AFTER their children went to study there or before. I remember reading about Ambani - that he donated millions of dollars to the institutions - AFTER his sons joined there. It is most likely - that like many affluent parents of Univ grads in US -  he got enthused . Similarly about Murthy.

Similarly, Azim Premji of Wipro came to Harvard Bus. School this spring for a talk - becos his son is studying there - should anyone hold that against him? What about Prince Charles roaming around the world -incl. Whie House this week - doing nothing concrete - on UK Taxpayers' money.

I did read somewhere earlier that Murthy's daughter went to US NOT on her parents' money but on some hard earned schol.

Further, Mr Sinha mentions that Murthys got married on a few hundred rupees and later went to US -for holidays. I should applaud Murthys' getting married for cheap --unlike LN Mittal's daughter's marriage costing 60 million dollars. I do not buy that Murthy's would go to US - on holidays - any comments?  Most likely they went after many years - or on a business trip.

I agree with Mr Sinha that bragging about IITs could backfire - esp. if it is not based on facts (as he listed out the bogus claim of  IIT-K mafia at MIT).

However, I think one should not cast aspersions  about anyone - unless you can back them with facts. I have this bad habit too - but if pointed out I do make amends.

In US there is always a fear of getting sued too.

Any comments?

even if some of it is mere speculation - other parts are true -probably. Info about Rajat Gupta is intriguing even if mere speculation -an orphan but with seemingly high connections with India's (and world's) best school and college edu

Rajat Gupta (IITian and Harvard MBA, McKinsey exCEO) now UN hot shot
