Dear Mayur

Thanks for your response. We were able to enjoy the wonderful performance of our respected Bhakat in the stage with a women -- for the first time in the history of Xattriya.

Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardeva and Shri Madhavdeva's message of Bhakti reverberated at the auditorium in London when the august audience clapped their hands and stood up in reverence to the chanting of " Jaya guru Shankara, jaya guru Madhava" by Prateesha Suresh and her team consisting of Shri Haricharan Bhuyan Barbayan and Shri Kamalakanta Bhuyan Barbayan of Natun Kamalabari Sattra, Majuli, Shri Diganta Das and Shri Bhupen Rajbongshi of Guwahati.

She went on to perform to pieces from Ankiya Nat and to the lyrics of Borgeet, combined with pure dance. Little Krishna's playful antics and mischief with mother Yasoda brought forth the 'vaatsalya ras'. The divinity in the dance numbers moved the audience to tears. Overcome by the moving abhinaya a few expressed their feelings in expressions like "oh! where am I...!"

The performance was dedicated as a homage to the past President of India K R Narayanan

The performance glued the audience to their seats after which they showered the troupe with compliments and expressed their desire to see more of such performances.

The Asian and the European communities  were overwhelmed by the performance and expressed that they have never seen such a beautiful and divine presentation of Sattriya. Such comments as " we have seen many Xattriya performances but never such a beautiful one as this one"complimented the artistes who have brought laurels to Assam through their dedication.

I wish all of us NRAs could do more to promote this year old traditional culture at the world level.
