ASDC wants PCG to focus tribals’ plight

DIPHU, Nov 30:
Chomang Kro, general secretary, ASDC, through a press note, has hailed the recent talks between the People’s Consultative Group (PCG) on the ULFA problem.
He further expressed the hope that while placing the demands of the Assamese people, the PCG would influence the Government of India to take concrete steps to solve the problems of the Karbi Dimasa and other indigenous tribes of the hill districts of the State.
He also lamented that the "fact that the hill people have always been neglected by the government.
Meanwhile he informed that the PCG members will visit the hill districts to garner support for its efforts to bring peace in the region by bringing the ULFA to the mainstream.
