I read long back that HSBC Bank (earlier HongKong & Shanghai Banking Corporation of UK) put its new management trainees into a sail boat in SE Asia seas - and they had to take it to some island a week away. Idea was to help them develop team spirit and how to take on unknown ventures with limited resources.

This program was developed (perhaps) using the idea from a local ritual - where a couple (which wanted to get married) was made to undergo a similar ordeal - to see if they could really cope well together under presssure of uncertainty and necessity in daily life. Indian youth are now taking up adventure sports in increasing numbers and thus developing risk taking abilities as well.

These Harvard grads could learn such lessons too - though Mt Everest should be the easiest climb - if they do take the help of tour guides - who have even got blind men and 60 year old women teams on the summit - helping create the "Highest Garbage dump in the world " after they leave their camp materials there only after the climb.
