Originally from Tezpur, Utpal now works for a charity in Pennsylvania, USA. Both of his parents are professionaly engaged in medical sector. His fathes is a qualified pharmacist and his mother is a trained staff nurse in a govt. hospital.

His parents wanted him to be a doctor. But young Utpal's mind was with the underprivileged and finding the way how to help them. He believes that to develop community one needs to develop the society first instead of developing the industries.

He reads Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teresa's dedication and fell for the footage believing: "World have given a lot to us, now it's our turn to give it back".

After finishing 12th grade education in science. He has joined in International volunteer service and went to Israel to work for Israel Kibbutz community in 1999.

He was actively involved with Baroda Citizen Council in Future Education and some local charities in Disabled people Rehabilitation projects.

In the year 2001: he came to Northern Ireland and London to work for various charities.

An N.G.O in Belfast known as (BCDA) Ballynafeigh Community Development Association. At London, he worked for:

1) Colchester Quaker Housing Association Projects for Homeless and Drug Abuse, mostly Young people.

2) London Borough of Waltham Forest Social Service Dept, to help Adult with Physical and Learning Disabilities.

In the year 2003: he was selected by Camphill Soltane, USA an organization works for people with mental disability. He represents many state level conference in USA.

Utpal's new role focuses on disability issues such as education and adadvocacy. He raises funds to run conference and exchange. A highlight was an American-wide advocacy summit at which Dr. Martin Luther King Jr III, son of the legendary civil rights leader made the keynote address and praised Utpal for his dedication to world's underprivileged.

C.S.V (Community Service Volunteer) was a great experience Utpal says: " If someone wants a career in social work  then volunteering with C.S.V is a good start to understand human face -- far and wide".

His dream is to work for the U.N. helping underprivileged children. Good luck Utpal! . We support you.
