Thanks for the information and thanks for keeping a
sharp eye on this All-India problem. Unfortunately, the suffering of
Assam from this deliberate onslaught from a neighbouring country is highest in
India ... in Assam it is now a life-death question of
survival.
The term "illegal immigrant" was used by interested
politicians in 1980s to water down the problem. To focus the seriousness of
the problem, it is necessary to call them what they are: "illegal
infiltrators".
An immigrant is a person who moves to another
country with legal papers like a passport, visa, etc. The immigrants are
entitled to many safeguards under United Nations. However, these
Bangladeshis cross the border stealthily and enter India without any
passport, without any visa. They are infiltrators.
The term "illegal immigrant" maybe seen as an
oxymoron like "dark sunlight" which does not add up. I insist that we use the
term "illegal infiltrator" to keep their mischief in sharp focus.
