Singh told reporters that the Governor T N Chaturvedi had asked him to prove his majority and he has decided to seek the trust vote at 10 am on January 27.

He also did not rule out the possibility of holding talks with JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda on defusing the political crisis engulfing the coalition government headed by him.

If this Karnataka vote revives BJP, Delhi’s UPA coalition will rapidly disintegrate. PCG will have to start all over again.   mm
