Here are some pictures of the Lohri festival on Jan 13- in the heart of Punjab. Though Punjabis all over the world celebrate the fest but I thought pictires from a Sikh family in the heart of Punjab would be more appealing.My friend Sarabjot (Sarab =darkness, Jot=Light --Light dispelling darkness) from Bhopal got married to a girl from Bhopal this year though he had moved to Punjab sometime ago. His mother will be moving shortly to be with his brother in Canada. His brother wears the Sikh turban but Sarab does not.His mother was born in Singapore to a Sikh family and moved to India after marriage to his later father who ran a truck business in Bhopal.
