Hi Himen-da:
Dear Chandan,
Instead of answering my question, you have asked another question --- and your counter-question is quite genuine.
*** If I don't know what you are asking about, if I give out an
answer that has no bearing with the thrust of your question, will it
help you any?
I can give any number of smart-alec answers to the question.
Would you like that?
However, instead myself and yourself engaged in this debate, let the other netters participate. If nobody else is interested, I'll withdraw my question, and you don't have to answer.
*** You have been doing just that for the last couple of days,
haven't you? It did not deter you from interrogating me over
everything while you answered none of my queries. I realize, my
questions are not easy. And forthright answers to them hold the
prospect of doing serious damage to your credibility and
reputation.
> If nobody else is interested, I'll withdraw my question, and you don't have to answer.
*** If my intuitions about my fellow men's outlooks in assam net
are correct, it is highly unlikely that anyone else is going to get
into this debate. There are precious few Hinduttwa zealots in Assam
net. And those who might be, remain in the closet. Assam net is not a
very welcome place for religious bigotries, if you had not realized it
by now.
But your rationale for withdrawing the question is rather
strange. What has others' interests or lack of it got to do with it if
you believe in it? Are your beliefs dependent on how others perceive
them to be? It is hard for me to comprehend that, because *I*
stand up for what I believe in, and do not hesitate to say it like it
is, instead of holding a wet finger in the air to see which way the
wind is blowing before I express them.
Remember Ravi Thakur's poem with the refrain " Ekla
cholo-re'"?
I appreciate your intellect,as always.
*** It is very kind of you to say that. But it is not about my
intellect or lack of it. We are discussing public issues. We analyze
them to the best of our abilities to see if a particular issue has
merit or not; if it is good for Assam or not. It is not a beauty
contest here, about who is smarter or who is more glib.
Best.
c
With the best wishes,
Himendra

*** You will need to explain how you see that happening, before I can give you an answer. I wished you had the courage to tell us what you are thinking. I have heard of all kinds of excuses people hold out why independence is scary for them, but never heard of this boogie you brought outBest,c.PS: You are continuing on your inquisition here and I am submitting to it gamely. But I must tell you, it cannot go on foe ever. You have to startanswering some of my questions, and mighty soon. Is it fair?
