Assam: PCG want congenial atmosphere before talks |

Guwahati, Feb 5 (PTI) The ULFA appointed People Consultative Group (PCG) will insist on suspension of army operations against militant outfit to prepare congenial atmosphere for talks.
"The 11 member P C G group leaving here tomorrow to New Delhi for talks with Union government will insists as an agenda the suspension of army operation", P C G member Lachit Bordoloi told PTI here.
Bordoloi said the army operation have to be stopped or else there is no point for the P C G to try for bringing the ULFA to the negotiating table. Both the things (army operation and peace talks) can not go together, he said.
The P C G, Bordoloi said had met yesterday to discuss the issues to be discuss in the meeting to be held on February seven.
Among the other issue to figure in the talks will be their demand for release of top ULFA leaders from jail and the state Governor controversial remarks on the talk issue, he said. PTI
