From day one they had been telling that they donot want to stay with India. Accord has been signed that after ten years of independence, they can choose what they want. And they choose 'independence'.

You're absolutely right. Mr Phizo told me: Never compromise. He kept his word.

The present State Government at Kohima is working for a long time now and most people have benefited from it in all possible ways. The first thing is:they tasted power and want to continue exercising  it. But the idea of sovereignty still appeals to them. As I understand they are still supporting the rebels. Even Ministers are alleged to be involved in it.

Their weakness lies in that they have become factionalised. Everybody wants to be a leader.

I am afraid I shall not be abole to write more about them. At one time I collected materials on the subject but one day I threw them way. There are others studying about them seriously. We've to look for their contributions.
