It is surprising that with 13 million primary school children out of school in India (compared to 100 million across the world) this ET report - of IMRB survey -says that all is fine in Indian system for primary schools. However, it is heartening that IMRB (Indian Marketing Research Bureau) hass shown interest in development work - and done some good fact finding.

"While the Survey says that till last October, 95 lakh children in the 6-14 age group were out of school, the IMRB survey, done last July-August, put out-of-school children at 1.34 crore (13 million)  out of 19.4 crore children in the age group of 6-14. "
