Hi BK:
I don't know that I have anything to hold up for anyone to
emulate.
Also, being stoic has never been one of my stronger suites. Nor
am I one to turn the other cheek -- mostly that is. But one thing is
for sure: I decide when to take offense, when to feel bad about
myself. I have a pretty darn good idea of what I am, and what I am
not. Thus no one can make me feel lesser than what I am, or inflate my
ego by telling me things that I know I am not. Sticks and stones may
break my bones, but words -----:-)!
Am I boasting, bragging?
Actually far from it. I just am a realist, and learned long ago
how to protect my own emotions from being played with or controlled by
others.
Best,
c

I am not sure what you really mean. Is it a stoic indifference to an obvious provocation or just Christ's advice to offer the remaining cheek also. Perhaps we could all learn from you how to fend ourselves against the knocks that bedevil our life all too frequently.
