| In case someone missed the jokes: 1. US youth seem to be stuck on weed and pot and not taking care ofr their nation's freedom. In India for each post in the military there are 1,000 applicants - atleast half of them perfectly qualified for the job. There are riots to stop commotion during army recruitment in India - so much is the resentment among those who cannot get in.. In US people need to come up with strange and useless arguments to make the junkie generation join the armed forces. They do not see the threat of the foreign terrorists but glorify the anti-establishment views to promote anarchy in the country . Perhaps there is something
lacking in the mindset of the people and the colleges and educational institutions they attended. 2. The youth has come up with brilliant but self defeating arguments about Godlessness and lack of morality of any sort. Thats about the article on Godlessness. The only God seems to be Trance-like state induced by drugs such as LSD and "weed" etc. For the record I did not find this magazine in some junkie joint but in a coffee shop - well lit in the rich FairFax/Arlington county , predominantly white neighborhood area quite near the day-care center I was subbing at the other day. I had gone there to grab a cup of coffee there - looked like a rustic India "Dhaba" -- but lots of nattily dressed business like people were there with laptops and newspapers. in Gaithurburg, Maryland about 20 miles from where I live -- mostly a white , suburban neighborhood --adjoining a mainly Black Washington DC. In buses I frequently overhear the proud voice of a young black man introducing himself to another than he has just returned from Japan while serving the Navy. I think he was commenting about Asian girls then . Blacks see military work as a window to global world - as empowering (like youth in India) -- white youth are busy trashing themselves with rock and pot -in general. Any comments? Umesh |
