Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day
http://www.news.harvard.edu/gazette/2006/05.11/11-remap.html looks like a great idea. Even at IITs hardly any women are there - mainly becos it is supposed to involve lot of outdoor work - unlike medicine . Computer Science etc and even architecture designing involves lots of indoor engg work.

Harvard's New Geo center -- focusing again after 1948 closure. Ties with National Geographic Society.

My note: at the top secret International Seminar at National Geographic Office on May 1, 2006 - which I secretly joined in  -- the guy was showing some Google type Hybrid map of USA -- but it had many many added features -perhaps like Harvard's GIS (see news) so that if one persons travels and writes a log or takes pictures, audio etc -- at that place in the map - there will be some symbols showing that. So if you want to share the experiences of the traveller - you just go along his path on the Google-type map clicking at various symbols at each halting place -- and see things as the Globe travller saw.

Ofcourse, later the Media section showed some music videos from around the world -incl Shubha Mudgal's song of India's first female Truck driver (not SUV, pick up -- but the big heavy duty one for carrying elephants etc)
