Mumbai Alphonso is Media Hyped.Far better tastes are those from U P -Bihar-Bengal-Andhra.
Literally every tree yields mango of a different flavour.
In our own village home we had some 6 large Mango trees yielding totally different flavours, fibre, taste. Because of the climate, lack of strong continuous sun-days, Oxom mangoes generally are less sweet than those from Bihar/UP or even those from mid-West Bengal-Malda i.e. And ours carried insects inside intact skin.
We are immune to these insects in various states- i.e.pupae to moving ones. We just ignore them and enjoy the 70% to 80% flesh.
Mango can be fumigated during blossoming to yield zero insects inside.
That will be when Mangoes are grown commercially in optimum sun/rain zones like Karbi,Hojai.
