Hi Umesh:

Do you remember the following, from 2001?

Hi U:

>Chan Mahanta and a few others may see nothing wrong in
>guys like ULFA or others in North East demanding
>freedom from India-- similarly he may see nothing wrong
>in Bangladeshis capturing Indian villages by force---

** Is it something you surmised from something I said
or is that what you guess? At any event have you
considered why some of the NE folks have sought independence?

My suggestion to Indian patriots like yourself would
be to understand the CAUSES of such demands and DO
SOMETHING about it. Propaganda barrages with little
or no REAL actions to solving the problems would do little
to change things. Nor could it be eradicated by brute force
or trickery.

>but for the rest of us - I'm sure it is high time we
>pesuaded our Govt. to clearly demarcate our border -
>for good.

** You may have a truly original idea here. How exactly do
you suppose the * government* should do it? And WHY do you
think it has done not it inspite of bemoaning it for a
quarter century?

One fertile minded netter once proposed putting up a very tall
unclimbable concrete wall, with a deep and wide moat, stocked
with fierce Baty of Bengal crocodiles. Do you think it might
work?

>Immigrants from Bangladesh should be identified
>likewise and deported before they create mischief here
>- all across India.

*** Another sound and originial idea here. So how do you
intend to advise the *government* to go about doing it?
Some other fertile minded netters were all agog with ideas
about photo IDs for all CITIZENS. I was awaiting proposals
for implanted computer chips and hand-held scanners for
all PATRIOTIC citizens to identify non-citizens and make
citizen's arrests.

BTW, what kinds of mischiefs are you worried about MOST? Petty
crime? Dilution of the culture? Increasing the number of Muslims
thereby endangering the Hindu species? Taking of citizens' jobs?
Or THE grand conspiracy to take over the NE, India's ancestral
property?

You asked for views :)! Here are mine.
