Shall view it only when we find it on CATV.

Anyway please note following:     mm

“The very dispute about the Christ-God concept is leading to the renouncement of the Christian values. Those presenting Christ as a historical figure deprive him of his uniqueness. They may well admit that he has greatly contributed to the development of society, national cultures and diplomacy, but we must understand that the devil or the anti-Christ can also admit the prophet’s big role,” the representative of the Tiraspol-Dubossar Diocese, Father Christophor said to REGNUM on May 23, while commenting on the description of Jesus Christ’s life in Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code novel and Ron Howard’s Da Vinci Code film.

“The Holy Writ says that Jesus Christ is the seed of the divine tree of life. Works like Da Vinci Code say that Jesus Christ is not a divine but historical tree and, by saying this, deny the Holy Writ. The true motives of this dispute are: is Jesus Christ the herald of history or history? The concept saying that Jesus Christ is a historical figure denies the very value of Christianity. It means to say that Jesus Christ just had a child and disappeared. Like a picture is just the creation of an artist, the church is said by them to be just the invention of humanity.

As representatives of the Orthodox Church, we cannot impose bans, we can only inform about Christ and also remind what the attempts to put Jesus Christ in the same row with great teachers like Buddha, Moses, Pythagoras can lead to.

Still, I think that the problem is not in the film or its release but in the religious ignorance of people who watch the film. This film can be harmful only for those who have little knowledge of religion. We personally will watch Da Vinci Code only as a work of art, a human creation.”

I saw the Discovery Channel and History Channel shows on the history and controversy behind this super duper hit movie (grossed $220 million on its first day). It seems some parts are histroy and some are mere fiction perhaps.

But those who believe that Krishna was a grown man when he romanced with the lots of Gopis at Vrindavan -should find nothing wrong in this version of Christ's marriage with child. History channel believed that whether Christ was married or not makes no difference to his message. I believe that Krishna was a pre-teen when he  played with the girls and upon become a teen was called by his mean and cruel uncle Kansa to the royal court -to fight it out as an adult (even now age 14 is considered legal adult hood -for child labor etc all over the world).

Any comments by those who saw the movie?
