I read that too about CPm-PERT in my MBA program--but that is old hat.
There is also a project management software besides hos tof new stuff -- even have committees called "Change Control Group" etc

We were learning and practising Project Management  through CPM(critical path method) and PERT(program evaluation & review techniques) even in 1963--particularly in Bokaro Steel Construction Project and others.
These techniques MUST have by now been overrun by better PC (Windows   etc)compatible software.

I think I will -if and when I get get to handle edu projects in some non profits. Meanwhile Indians should take it up -to handle Indian projects in construction etc

he has just cleared his Project Management Professional exam and become a PMP -a sought after certification -esp in IT field. I acted somewhat as his coach or a sparring partner -while he preapared for it. I learnt a lot from it about importance of projet management.
    
 
    
 He went for the PMP exam and I went for my High School science teaching exam -on July 3rd. July 4th I flew to LA. 
    
 
    
He wants to take up a Management certification in US Univ -paid by his company (upto$5,000 p.a.) -later an MBA degree
-though he has one from India - a B rung one though .

affordable program --though you might have to fork out about $3500 from your pocket (given that BAH will pay only $5,000 p.a.). The longer ones cost upto $50,000. There is very less time left to apply -since it is this month itself --but no harm in applying online-they may still have seats left--and I will check up program at other schools

APPLICATION PROCESS Candidates can apply online. They also can download the application and send it to the address or fax listed on the form. Applications are requested at least four weeks before the program start date. Qualified candidates are admitted on a rolling, space-available basis, and early application is encouraged.
    
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Admission is selective and based on professional achievement and organizational responsibility. No formal educational requirements apply, but proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Executive Education programs enhance the leadership capacity of the managers enrolled as well as their organizations, and HBS expects full commitment from both. While participants devote time and intellect to the learning experience, sponsoring companies agree to assume fees, provide for reasonable expenses,
and relieve individuals of their work responsibilities during the program.  
    
PROGRAM FEE The $8,500 program fee covers tuition, books, case materials, accommodations, and most meals. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date. If admission is within 30 days prior to the start of the program, payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. Cancellation policies are outlined in the information provided to applicants upon admission.
