Hi,

While gathering my documents to show at the Canadian embassy tomorrow I read a letter I had received from Ms Carole Prest - the regional Vice President (Mid Atlantic region)  for the www.bellnational.org where I had worked. I had seen this letter after returning to DC on August 8th this month --and did appreciate her hand written note congratulating and thanking me fro working there -at the end of the letter. But the letter I did not read in detail since it was about inviting us to work the coming year and I was not sure I would get the work visa (even now in a flux).

Today I read that letter and was surprised to note that the school-site where I taught 7 eight yearolds (mainly Latinos) - total 41 students and 5 teachers -- HighLand Elementary , Wheaton , Maryland --- was the group whose students had shown greatest improvement --not only from among other sites supervised by her (NYC, DC New Jersey) - --but from among ALL the school sites managed by BELL all over USA - 40 sites in all.

It is likely that I contributed somewhat -as seems from Ms Prest's letter.

It is true that teaching the class was sometimes like controlling a wild eyed bronc in a rodeo -- but only those who show energy can be expected to turn out into racehorses.

Is that true?

Umesh

PS: Isn't it a heavenly green place with forests around and streams flowing at the back
