>The name "Sankaradeva Bhawan" was decided much before "x" or "s"

I understand your ignorance regarding X and S, but
you are not to be blamed. The X sound was known to the Assamese even from
1826 from writings of Miles Bronson and others that Assamese has this guttural X
sound which was similar to that of the Greeks and others.
Howvever even ignoring the use of X instead of S,
as pointed out by Chandan, we are Sanskritizing the Assamese spellings. For
instance, in Assamese we say SANGKARDEV or
SANGKARDEW and not SANKARADEVA like you are
writing. SANKARADEVA is Sanskrit and not Assamese. I hope you
will know the difference of Assamese NG instead of Sanskrit
N..
Again, nobody is blamimg for the error. Assamese
literary intellingtia also try to Sanskritize and dilute the Assamese language
and culture. But if our aim is to propogate Assamese culture and language
outside, we should do it right. That is all we are saying.

of books to Assam Association, Delhi library
Thanks Mukulda, for the support! We shall happily accept the
donation. Also please try if you can arrange for some more from your
circle.
Hi Rajenda, Ajantaba, Chandanda.... The name "Sankaradeva
Bhawan" was decided much before "x" or "s" regime, and hence cannot be changed
now by myself. We have added the word "Srimanta" on the advise of Mr. Vinod
Kumar Pipersenia, an IAS officer belonging to Assam cadre. His argument was-if
we ourselves donot add honorific to our great persons, who else
would!
Regarding bearing the cost of shipping from US, I don't know
"whether it will be kerelatkoi gutee
dighol..:)". We shall be obliged if the books are sent on CIF basis.
There will be clear credit given to the donor. Alternatively one can donate in
foreign currency. We have FCRA clearance and an account with State Bank
of India dedicated for the purpose.
MM'da-next time
you come for talks, welcome to stay in our "raizor" building. You can have a
glimpse of the building at www.assamassociation.org"- it has
since improved a lot. We have 10 rooms and three dormitories [26 seats {20 men
& 6 women}]. Donations of Rs. 1200/- , Rs 800/-, Rs. 500/- (non AC) are
accepted towards our Trust for using the facility. Dormitory charge is Rs.
100/- per bunk bed. Cheers to all!

Full agreement here from
Yours Truly.
Xomujjwal shouted once in
frustration " Oxomot Buddhijibi Naaai"
If there are ,they ought to be branded

They live on little tricks and somehow
survive. Like Himself.
We have to create a new breed of Thinkers and
Original writers in free Oxom. Shakespeares, Xongkordeus,
Mozarts,Rembrandts,VanGoghs....
Trouble is- nobody reads any more, composes any
more--.They are fed packages of predigested
Fast Food .
And Yellow Journalism headlines. Letters

Where are the Patrons of Creativity and
KULTUR?
Yet Manoj Tries. Let us help him.

Thanks and well
noted!!
My comments are however not supposed to
reflect anyway on Monoj and others who are working hard to establish
the Xongkordew Bhowon in Delhi.
My comments are mainly towards the Oxom
Xahityo Xobha and the Asamese literary intellengtia (whatever left of
them) who has failed to guide the common Assamese
people.
Monoj:
Regarding Book Donation, many people
from here would like to donate books from here if someone can arrange the
shipping by ses. Also you need to specify what type of books you need. I
don't think you would like to receive technical books.

c'mon Rajen. Oxomiya pronunciations are not legitimate enough. That is
why. Didn't you know? Why do you think Assam's standard bearers, such as
the AT, translates Oxomiya sounds to Sanskrit ones first, before they
transliterate them. And sounds they are unable to,easily, that is, for
example the 'xo' sound so unique to the Assamese language, they either
floow the Bengali or the Hindi equivalents, no doubt because those are
MORE legitimate than Oxomiya sounds.
Is that
so hard to process, really?
Give
our good friends Manoj or Mohan a break, would ya? When have we ever
pronounced Xonkordeu as Xonkordeu. That is for illiterate 'gaonlia' types.
The Oxomiya literati does it the way literate people ought to: as
Sankardeva!
Subserviently
