The following 10 are the top news in today's Assam Tribune. 9 of the 10 are local news, the only national/international news being number 6. So if we take a snap shot, the nine pieces of loacl news should reflect what is happening in the state for the day.

News number 7 where FINER is trying to bring investment money into Assam caught my eyes. I realize the Assam Tribune is not a financial daily. Even then I read the day's news from the viewpoint of investment. This is what I saw:
news 6:  international, not relevant
news 7:  looking for investment, hypothesis - Assam is ready for investment, thus not included
news 4, 5, 8:  Works for investment
news 1, 2, 3, 9, 10:  Works against investment

So, is Assam is attractive for outside investment? Does Assam need or want investment from outside? I'd think FINER is looking for private investment. Will it come if the stability of the state is as shown by five pieces of news against and three for? Will it be different if it was five for and three against?

One day's news does not make or break anything. However, what do the economists in the net think?
